Dr. Gauvreau is a Maine native. A third generation doctor, his father and grandfather were both surgeons, he received his BA degree from the University of Vermont in 1969 and both his BS and OD degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, graduating in 1973. He completed the Refractive Surgery course at Tufts University School of Medicine in 1996.
After serving in the U.S. Army as an optometry officer, he returned to Maine in 1975 and established the Eye Care & Eye Wear Center of Maine. Dr. Gauvreau is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association. He is licensed by the Maine Board of Optometry for the treatment of eye disease and glaucoma.
Dr. Gauvreau is a board certified doctor by the American Board of Optometry. He specializes in the treatment of glaucoma and dry eye disease and the management of macular degeneration.
Dr. Roush joined the Eye Care & Eye Wear Center of Maine in August 2005. He is a third generation optometrist, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and uncle. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1998 from Indiana University and his Optometry degree in 2002 from the Indiana University School of Optometry.
Dr. Roush specializes in the management of dry eye disease, diabetic eye care, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He is an experienced prescriber of all types of contact lenses including complex contact lens fitting for astigmatism, near vision problems (bifocal contacts), and dry eyes.Dr. Roush has a unique interest and expertise in “myopia control” techniques to significantly slow the rate of nearsighted progression in children and young adults. These techniques reduce a person’s eventual nearsighted prescription by up to seventy percent.
He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association. He is licensed by the Maine Board of Optometry for Therapeutic Advanced Glaucoma Authority, which is the highest level of licensure offered by the state. He lives in Portland with his wife and two children.
Dr. Haverkamp is a native of Kansas. She received her bachelor of general studies in chemistry from Wichita State in 2004 and her OD degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2008.
During her fourth year, she completed three clinical rotations emphasizing ocular pathology and treatment, primary care, practice management, contact lens, vision therapy, and low vision. She practiced in Bangor for three years upon graduation with a large medical practice.
Dr. Haverkamp is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association. She is licensed by the Maine Board of Optometry for the treatment of eye disease and glaucoma.
